Came back finally after half an hour and multiple attempts to re-upload the file. What was up with that?! Guess it saw me complain in a journal, and should embarrass me, hah!

Sarcastically, I'm not actually thankful that after I uploaded a fix to a page and it murdered my preview thumbnail!

Is this a thing now? Fix a file and it punishes you by taking away your image preview?! I just spent a few hours fixing mistakes I didn't detect when I was just exhausted trying to finish a lot of work in a short amount of time. I hate this.

My hand is in paaaain, the other night I snagged my fingers on the door handle and they either twisted, or got pulled out of the socket momentarily, or bent way too far back, or ALL of the above, all I know is it happened when I sorta lost balance shutting the door so my cat Kuro would be shut in the bathroom and not harass Weiss who was in the litterbox because yes I don't want painful infected bites again from breaking up cat fights... it locked up in a curl around the door handle as I was sorta teetering on my feet and for a moment I thought I snapped a finger tendon (ಥДಥ) I DIDN'T THANK GOODNESS BUT STILL

So of course this happens right when I need to finish a ton of work! It thankfully doesn't hurt while drawing, though it's my middle and ring finger that got wrenched. It was a BEAST to stir my macaroni and the kool-aid though. and it hurts to type but here I am doing that anyway haaa! I'm procrastinating because this page I'm working on hates me so I'm especially distracted!

...but I've been looking at a lot of new webcomics lately during my "OW OW GETTING A BLISTER FROM THE PEN" breaks (the gooshy padding on my tablet pen is malformed to the point that it looks like I wrapped clay around it) and I've started to notice a thing that sort of annoys me so I'm gonna just say this to anyone doing comics/planning on doing a comic:

If your characters are reacting in AWE and AMAZEMENT to something, if they are taking special note of something (the city is beautiful! The building is impressive! ETCETERA) please take the time and make an effort to make it so the audience can appreciate it too! ╮(ʘ`ε ´ʘ)╭ Even if you draw it ONCE and recycle it, please, put the same effort into it as your character designs.

I give people a pass when it's obvious they tried but I'm bringing this up because the artists in question did not! (come on I can tell when someone just does something underwhelming to get it out of the way because it didn't have cool characters to draw in that panel, the comics doing this are mostly showcases for their neat character designs than they are because they had a story to tell... which is fine!)

It's a bad case of tell don't show, comics are visual medium so we shouldn't be having to use or imagination that something the character is reacting to with a sense of awe is really worth the adoration. I really feel like it's better to draw something that maybe doesn't look so good than to cut corners and have the characters tell us it's supposed to be impressive. (の↼ の)
