Worry not, Fake-Doctor-Smith is here to help Vic! And Blaine is looking out for him too, at Vic's grandfather's request.
This health center was lousy with Ixzerites! The nurse who turned on the radio, Kim's friend who recommended the place to Vic's also-Ixzerite mom... and the dead doctor was something else also, the generation following the Ash Circle cult... who knows what he planned for Vic now that they are taking interest in him. Blondie and Blaine ran interception on this one though. Ixzerites, as I may have mentioned, may not be super aware of what they are doing, just that when they indulge certain impulses, it feels--right. When they boost the signal, Ixzerit rewards them with a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

Fake-Doc wants Vic to avoid the radio... he wants him to ignore the monsters... he's hoping that he will also fall under the sway of the glamour and stop seeing them at all, and be "normal" like his father. Nobody knows what will happen if Vic's abilities fully manifest thanks to his Ixzerite blood... but there's precedent that it could turn out really poorly.
